COMPOTEC Composite Hoses

Light, strong, highly flexible, anti-static and kink-proof. For chemicals, petroleum products, aviation fuel, food, LNG and LPG — from −200 to +200 °C.

COMPOTEC is the composite hose division of the Italian Matec Group. Composite hoses meet transfer needs in the chemical and petrochemical industries, services and transport — where conventional rubber and PVC hoses can be unsafe because of aggressive substances, a wide temperature range or pressure conditions.

Construction: a multi-layer package of thermoplastic films and fabrics tensioned between internal and external wire helices. The liner is polypropylene or PTFE, resistant to solvents, chemicals, acids, resins and petroleum products. Pressure 10 and 15 bar, up to 40 bar for special types.

Standards and general properties

Certification

  • Type approvals: Lloyd’s Register (13/00002), DNV (P-12369), RINA, Russian Maritime Register of Shipping
  • IBC Code ch. 5 and IMO Chemical Carrier Code paras 2:12 and 5:7 — ship cargo hoses

Questions and answers

Frequently asked questions

Why is a composite hose better than a rubber hose?

A composite hose is lighter and more flexible, resists a wide range of chemicals and aromatics, operates from −200 to +200 °C, does not kink and is fully anti-static.

Which EN 13765 type should I choose?

Type 1 — vapours and low pressure, type 2 — standard duty (tanker loading, in-plant lines), type 3 — heavy duty (ship and dockside operations), type 4 — high temperatures.
